| Excerpt | Rezumat Cercetările arheologice preventive desfăşurate în primăvara anului 2026 în zona turnului de la intrarea estică în curtea Patriarhiei au condus la identificarea unor structuri de ziduri atribuite chiliilor ridicate în epoca lui Constantin Brâncoveanu. Au fost deschise şapte secţiuni (S1–S7), dintre care cele de la sud de turn au relevat un ansamblu de ziduri (Z1–Z7), delimitând mai multe încăperi. Corelarea descoperirilor cu planuri istorice şi surse documentare a permis reconstituirea parţială a evoluţiei laturii estice a ansamblului mitropolitan. Deşi existenţa chiliilor este confirmată pentru secolele XVIII–XIX, momentul exact al demolării celor de la nord de turn nu poate fi stabilit cu precizie, în pofida datelor disponibile. În schimb, pentru zona sudică există dovezi clare privind demolarea în anii 1930–1931, în contextul reamenajărilor urbane a zonei. Abstract: Preventive archaeological investigations carried out in the spring of 2026 in the area of the tower located at the eastern entrance to the Patriarchal courtyard led to the identification of wall structures attributed to monastic cells erected during the reign of Constantin Brâncoveanu. Seven trenches (S1–S7) were opened, of which those situated nord of the tower revealed a complex of walls (Z1–Z7), delineating multiple rooms and indicating a clearly organized planimetric layout. The correlation of these discoveries with historical maps and documentary sources has enabled a partial reconstruction of the evolution of the eastern side of the metropolitan complex. Although the existence of the monastic cells is documented for the 18th–19th centuries, the exact moment of demolition of those located to the north of the tower cannot be precisely established, despite the available data. In contrast, for the southern area there is clear evidence indicating their demolition in 1930–1931, in the context of urban reconfiguration works. |
